A Non-antisymmetric Tensor Contraction Engine for the Automated Implementation of Spin-Adapted Coupled Cluster Approaches

We present a symbolic manipulation algorithm for the efficient automated implementation of rigorously spin-free coupled cluster (CC) theories based on a unitary group parametrization. Due to the lack of antisymmetry of the unitary group generators under index permutations, all quantities involved in the equations are expressed in terms of non-antisymmetric tensors. Given two tensors, all possible contractions are first generated by applying Wick's theorem. Each term is then put down in the form of a non-antisymmetric Goldstone diagram by assigning its contraction topology. Quantum criticality on a chiral ladder: An SU(2) infinite density matrix renormalization group study

In this paper we study the ground-state properties of a ladder Hamiltonian with chiral $\text{SU}(2)$-invariant spin interactions, a possible first step toward the construction of truly two-dimensional nontrivial systems with chiral properties starting from quasi-one-dimensional ones. Our analysis uses a recent implementation by us of $\text{SU}(2)$ symmetry in tensor network algorithms, specifically for infinite density matrix renormalization group. Analytic first derivatives for a spin-adapted open-shell coupled cluster theory: Evaluation of first-order electrical properties

An analytic scheme is presented for the evaluation of first derivatives of the energy for a unitary group based spin-adapted coupled cluster (CC) theory, namely, the combinatoric open-shell CC (COSCC) approach within the singles and doubles approximation. The widely used Lagrange multiplier approach is employed for the derivation of an analytical expression for the first derivative of the energy, which in combination with the well-established density-matrix formulation, is used for the computation of first-order electrical properties. Unitary units and skew elements in group algebras

Let FG be the group algebra of a group G over a field F and let * denote the canonical involution of FG induced by the map g→g −1 ,gG. Let Un(FG)={uFG|uu * =1} be the group of unitary units of FG. In case char F=0, we classify the torsion groups G for which Un(FG) satisfies a group identity not vanishing on 2-elements. Along the way we actually prove that, in characteristic 0, the unitary group Un(FG) does not contain a free group of rank 2 if FG − , the Lie algebra of skew elements of FG, is Lie nilpotent. Motivated by this connection we characterize most groups G for which FG − is Lie nilpotent and char F≠2.

Resume Revenant sur la question de la separation des representations unitaires irreductibles d'un groupe de Lie exponentiel G par leur application moment, nous presentons ici une nouvelle solution : au lieu de prolonger l'application moment a l'algebre enveloppante de G , nous proposons de definir une application (non lineaire) Φ de g ∗ dans le dual g + ∗ de l'algebre de Lie d'un groupe resoluble G + , de prolonger les representations de G a G + de telle facon que les orbites coadjointes correspondantes de G + soient caracterisees par l'adherence de leur enveloppe convexe. Ceci nous permet de separer les representations irreductibles de G .

A candidate for a noncompact quantum group

A previous letter (Bidegain, F. and Pinczon, G:Lett. Math. Phys.33 (1995), 231–240) established that the star-product approach of a quantum group introduced by Bonneau et al. can be extended to a connected locally compact semisimple real Lie group. The aim of the present Letter is to give an example of what a noncompact quantum group could be. From half of the discrete series ofSL(2,\(\mathbb{R}\)), a new type of quantum group is explicitly constructed.
